Talk It Out - How old is to old to star or reply to a comment?

Hello everyone, and welcome to another Talk It Out.

I decided to do one this morning since I hadn’t done one in a while, and it would give something to look forward to when I get home. I am driving back to Oklahoma City after doing my Christmas with family in Fort Worth. It’s been fun but i’m ready to get back to my normal life and that includes posing questions to all you fabulous Kinja folks.

So i have been getting a lot of recs and replies to comments I made on this post.

The article was posted back in July but for some reason the Giz folks decided to re-post it last Friday. This wasn’t part of a “Year In Review” type post, just posted on it’s own. There wasn’t even any updates or corrections, just the same story as in July.

Since then I have been getting lots of stars and replies to comments I made. A lot of them are the same grey idiots I got when I first posted the comments, but I had thought we had all moved on.

I starteds thinking, how long is to long to reply to star a comment? I think 3 months is the deadline. Things move so quickly around here, not at Twitter speed, but still pretty quickly. I doubt most of us remember comments made on articles posted a month ago, let alone 3 or almost 6 in this case. The worst part is that a lot of the comments are the same as ones I got when the story was first posted, as if these grays didn’t bother reading all the stuff already posted.

Anyway, what do you guys think? Is almost six months to long, or is that kosher? Would you leave comments or recs on posts from longer back, say a year or more? Talk it out in the comments. I’ll be on the road in a bit so i may not get back to this for a few hours. I’ll un grey and reply when I get back to my main computer.
